The Customs House has five highly unique private event spaces suitable for an intimate get-together with friends, formal dinners, workshops or weddings.
Bookings for up to 50 guests standing, 40 seated.
The original Court House features an exquisitely high ceiling with opulent lighting, polished timber floors, roaring open fire, harbour views, and the fully-licensed Court House Bar. Guests will make a grand entrance into this breathtaking space via the seafront or winding courtyards. The Court House seats 32 guests, with the adjacent Magistrates Office offers a second smaller area for lounging or intimate dining (max 8 people seated). Use of kitchen and bathroom facilities is included.
Bookings for up to 70 guests standing, 40 seated indoors.
A door within the Court House opens onto a maze of courtyards surrounded by rustic stone walls. Partly roofed in sections, this picturesque area with its character window overlooking the harbour serves as an alluring ‘overflow’ for Court House functions that require some additional space or focal points.

Enjoy brunch, a long lunch or dinner party in the original exercise yard for the police cell guests. This cosy open-air space with festoon lighting is situated alongside the kitchen, offering an intimate gourmet experience with your chosen caterer.
This spacious paved courtyard bordered with manicured hedges and fragrant roses is perfect for wedding ceremonies and open-air soirees. Sheltered from the coastal sea breezes by the magnificent Customs House building, it also has direct kitchen and bathroom access.
Please note that additional portable bathrooms or toilets may need to be hired at the guest’s expense for larger functions, as the Custom House’s historic bathroom facilities will not cope with large crowds.
The lawned area at the front of the Customs House overlooks the ocean and is the perfect size for a larger marquee event or open-air soiree for up to 150 guests, with direct access to the Court House Bar and commercial kitchen facilities. Please note that permits are required for events on The Parade, and additional portable bathrooms or toilets may need to be hired.
